Gridlock

Gridlock is a performance piece that was made in collaboration with Sahar Sajadieh for the Media Arts and Technology End of Year Show 2012. The piece and the visualizations for the piece were created by Sahar. For me as a mover the piece was an exploration in interactive digital technology and the body. There is a tricky line to walk when trying to create images with your body that are simulatneously visible in two worlds. It is a challenge to be aware of both the physical world where my body exists, and the digital world where an echo or shadow of my physical body exists. With a bit of practice it becomes possible as a performer to craft images in both worlds simultaneously creating a sort of bridge between worlds.
